South-Korean Ambassador Kim Seung-eui:
"Bulgaria is a Good Place for Investments"
The necessity to invigorate the exchange of business delegations and meetings between South Korean and Bulgarian businessmen was the main topic at the meeting between Ambassador Kim Seung-eui and BCCI President Bojidar Bojinov. "Changing Bulgaria has to present itself attractively to the world. Foreign investors must learn that your country is a good place to make investments.", said Ambassador Kim Seung-eui. " South-Korean investors are interested in concrete projects in the power engineering sector and we expect BCCI to help them orient themselves in the reality", added he.
In the Spring, BCCI will host South-Korean businessmen and organize for them a business forum with Bulgarian partners. Later on, the Chamber will organize a business mission to the Asian country.
South Korea ranks first among foreign investors from Asia with ca USD 57 mln. Their investments are predominantly in the area of the automotive industry and hoteliership.
For the first half of 2001, the trade between the two countries amounted to USD 12.888 mln. with a negative balance of 8 mln for our country.
Twelve Bulgarian-Korean companies are registered with BCCI. Five of them are 100% Korean-owned, four are joint ventures and the trade representation offices are three.
