Meeting of the President of BCCI with the Commercial Attaché of the U.S. Commercial Service
Partnership and joint efforts for a better and more attractive investment environment in Bulgaria were discussed
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov met with Ms. Maria Galindo, Commercial Attaché at the U.S. Commercial Service with the U.S. Embassy in Sofia. The meeting was held on 26 January at the U.S. Embassy with the participation of Ms. Stanislava Dimitrova, Senior Commercial Specialist.
The President of BCCI introduced Ms. Galindo to the main directions and activities of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its joint initiatives with other similar organizations and AmCham in particular. The range of services provided by the Chamber to foreign companies and the Chamber’s publications aimed at facilitating investors were also presented.
Mr. Simeonov paid special attention to the achievements of the Arbitration Court at BCCI, which provides companies with the opportunity to benefit from notable advantages such as speedy resolution, low cost and competent judges – all this in the light of the problems found in the other alternative for dispute resolution – the Bulgarian judicial system. With regard to the serious criticism of Bulgaria, the President of the Chamber introduced Ms. Galindon with the consistent long-term efforts for a better judiciary. As a specific example of recent days, he pointed out the support expressed by the Chamber for the Declaration of the Joint Chambers of Commerce in Bulgaria.
Other current issues regarding the Bulgarian economic climate were also discussed. An agreement was reached to continue the mutual efforts for a better and more attractive investment environment in Bulgaria.
