Opportunities to expand the trade and economic relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

The newly-appointed Ambassador of Vietnam to Bulgaria H.E. Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh visited BCCI and met with the President of the Chamber Tsvetan Simeonov. The Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Bulgaria Nguyen Thai Hoa also took part in the meeting.

The topic of the meeting was expanding the economic cooperation. H.E. Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh introduced the President of BCCI to the high growth rate of Vietnamese economy. The country has signed FTAs with 12 countries from North and South America, and the Pacific region. The FTA between Vietnam and the EU is expected to have a direct impact on the relations with Bulgaria and to open new opportunities for cooperation.

Tsvetan Simeonov outlined the possibilities for joint business between Bulgarian and Vietnamese companies with emphasis on the sectors: agriculture, food industry, machine building for the food and processing industry, automotive industry and production of spare parts for automobiles, bicycles and motor bikes, etc.

The untapped potential for development of the bilateral relations was also discussed. The parties agreed through specific actions to address the existing niches in the bilateral trade.
