The Partnership between BCCI and DEIK in Support of Entrepreneurs from Bulgaria and Turkey Continues

The Chairman of the Bulgarian-Turkish Economic Council at BCCI, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, met with his counterpart Mr. Osman Ak, Chairman of the Turkish-Bulgarian Economic Council to the Board for External Economic Relations of Turkey (DEIK). The meeting was attended by Mr. Iancho Yanev, President of the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ivan Stoimenov, a member of the BCCI Executive Council and representatives of the Board of Directors of the Turkish-Bulgarian Economic Council.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkey, while giving an assessment of the level of development of the trade and economic relations in the context of recent events in the region.

It was found that trade was successfully developing as Osman Ak and Tsvetan Simeonov set themselves the ambitious common goal - through joint efforts in the near future to achieve and surpass new psychological barrier of the bilateral trade of USD 10 billion.

During the meeting open issues in the development of the bilateral cooperation were discussed - in the field of transport, energy, investment procedures for obtaining visas and work permits.

Upcoming projects were also presented of which BCCI would further inform.
