The classification was conducted among 6380 companies accounting for 85% of Bulgaria’s GDP
The 18th edition of BCCI’s classification “TOP 100 Companies leading in the Bulgarian Economy in 2014”  was presented by the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov at a press-conference held in the Chamber.

The classification presents the companies with the highest financial results achieved in 2015 in 5 categories. It was conducted among 6380 companies which accounted for 84.73% of the country’s GDP in 2015.

The methodology of the “TOP 100” classification includes a ranking on the basis of objective data from the annual financial statements of companies. Non-financial companies which ended 2015 with profit and sales revenue over BGN 100 000 in 2014 are included in the classification

Main conclusions of the classification

An increase of 125% of sales revenue in 2015 as compared to 2014 of the top 100 fastest growing companies showss BCCI’s classification TOP 100.

More than half of the fastest growing 100 companies are in the trade (32%) and construction sectors (25%). The presence of the trade sector is no surprise because it produces around 70% of the country’s GDP, while the good results in the construction sector are due mainly to the implemented public projects.

The largest growth of sales revenue in 2015 as compared to 2014 in the industry is primarily in companies from the chemical industry and manufacturing of machinery and equipment. These sectors are traditionally oriented towards foreign markets and our companies hold good positions against foreign competitors.

Good results are reported in relation to revenue growth and even better to profit growth. The results of the top 50 companies classified by highest increase of their financial results show 7 times higher profits in 2015 as compared to 2014. Their average profit in 2015 is BGN 9,4 million as compared to BGN 1,2 million in 2014.

The largest companies in the Southwestern Region make 10 times more profits than those in the Northwestern region. The tendency is observed in the ranking by regions, which represents the 10 highest ranking companies with maximum value of net sales revenue and profit. The second position as a region in which the companies with highest turnover are concentrated is occupied by the Northeastern region. This is due to its structural specialization in the chemical industry – companies from it have stable earnings and export their products worldwide.

During the press-conference, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov awarded the interns from the National High School in Finance and Business and the National Trade and Banking High School with certificates for their contribution to inputting the data in the process of preparation of the TOP 100 classification.
