20-member business delegation from Taiwan visited BCCI

The businessmen are interested in the sectors of tourism, SPA and balneology, construction, and rose water production






A 20-member business delegation from Taiwan visited BCCI and met with the Chamber’s President Tsvetan Simeonov. Mrs. Patty Pei-Chen Lin, Director of Taiwan Trade Center (TAITRA) in Sofia also took part in the meeting.

The delegation was led by Mr. Bill Wei, Vice President of Ligen Technical Corporation and included representatives of the sectors automobile parts, sports goods, toys, machine building, construction materials.

Mr. Simeonov welcomed the enthusiasm of the Taiwanese delegation to have business meetings in Bulgaria and stressed the excellent cooperation between BCCI and TAITRA, at whose invitation the delegation visited Bulgaria. The President of BCCI reminded of his visit to Taipei earlier this year, on the occasion of the forum organized by the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) with the participation of representatives of Bulgaria and Greece, and Taiwanese institutions and companies with experience in the Balkans.

Mr. Simeonov praised the entrepreneurial spirit of Taiwanese businessmen. Emphasis was placed on the successfully developing economy, the performance of Taiwanese companies on the world market, and the strong ties between Taiwan-Japan-USA.

The representatives of the Taiwanese delegation said that they are interested in the sectors of tourism, residential institutions, SPA and balneology, construction, and rose water production. According to them, the only obstacles for strengthening the commercial relations between Bulgaria and Taiwan are the geographic distance and the language barrier. In this respect, and in relation to tourism, Mr. Simeonov stressed the need of direct transport link.

The meeting continued with presentations by Patty Pei-Chen Lin, Director of Taiwan Trade Center (TAITRA) in Sofia, who presented the economy of Taiwan, and Svetoslav Gatev, Expert at InvestBulgaria Agency, who presented the investment climate in Bulgaria and outlined the advantages of starting a business in the country.
