Business mission from Taiwan visited BCCI

The main advantages of the investment climate in Bulgaria were presented


At BCCI a meeting was held between the Chamber’s President Tsvetan Simeonov and Ambassador Sherman S. Kuo, Representative of Taipei in Greece. Mrs. Patty Pei-Chen Lin, Director of Taiwan Trade Center (TAITRA) in Sofia, Alfred Wang, Director of Economic Division at the Taipei Representative Office in Greece, and Eugenia Yu-chin Yun, Director of Press, Academic and Cultural Affairs also took part in the meeting.

The aim of the visit was to establish contact between the newly-appointed Representative of the mission of Taiwan in Greece and BCCI, as well as to discuss opportunities for development of economic relations between Bulgarian and Taiwanese companies.

Tsvetan Simeonov welcomed the interest of the Taiwanese Representative to strengthen the cooperation with Bulgaria and said that the island country is a traditionally good partner. He presented briefly the activity of the Chamber in support of Bulgarian entrepreneurs and international business initiatives.

The Taiwanese guests also expressed satisfaction with the excellent relations between the two countries and demonstrated interest in the Arbitration Court at BCCI and its advantages, the bilingual Unified Trade Register and membership in the Chamber, the procedure for issuance of certificates of origin, as well as Bulgarian fairs and exhibitions for the food industry and tourism.

During the meeting the economies of both countries were discussed. Tsvetan Simeonov outlined the main advantages of Bulgarian business and investment climate – low corporate income tax, cheap labour and significant incentives. The representatives of Taiwan also presented the current economic situation, focusing on the latest development of trade and industrial associations in the region of New Taipei.
