With the assistance of BCCI an information center for the Georgian wine and grape world has been launched



The first information centre for the Georgian wine and grape world – the Competence Centre for Wine, Wine Marketing and Grape Products (CCWMG) has recently been launched. The project has been realised thanks to the partnership between the Georgian Wine Association and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the East Invest 2 project.

BCCI assisted the Georgian Wine Association in conducting research on the production of grape, wine and related products in Georgia, coming up with a concept for the development of an online platform, and promoting it. As part of the partnership, Georgian companies took part in the Balkan International Wine Festival, which took place in Sofia in May 2016.

 

The Competence Centre is an online space where wine producers, customers and connoisseurs can come together. The Centre offers information about wine and grape producers, products, food and wine matching advice, as well as serving as a sales channel for Georgian wine companies.

There are currently 120 wine products listed on www.geowinery.com, and the goal is to eventually include all wines produced in Georgia. Moreover, the platform will be linked to another online platform georgianwine.travel, which covers information about wine tourism in Georgia. So visitors can find information about particular wines and also information on places to visit in Georgia related to wine.
