The first constituent assembly of the Bulgarian – Uzbek Business Council at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held.
The event was opened by the Vice-President of BCCI Mr. Georgi Stoev, who wished success to the new initiatives and stressed the importance of joint councils for the intensification of business ties and economic cooperation of Bulgaria with third countries.
The constituent assembly was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toshko Krastev, Chairman of the Friendship Association between Bulgaria and Uzbekistan.
During the event, the Statutes of the new Council was adopted and its management was elected. Krasimir Martinov was elected Chairman of the Bulgarian – Uzbek Business Council. In his speech he noted the important geographic role of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian business in building bridges for cooperation between Europe and the countries of Central Asia. He also gave a brief overview of the Uzbek economy, emphasizing the ample opportunities to further develop the production potential and boost trade between the two countries.
