H.E. Gregory Andrews, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand accredited for Bulgaria, seated in Brussels, met with the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov. The Ambassador was introduced to the activity of BCCI in support of small and medium-sized enterprises. Tsvetan Simeonov pointed out that despite the short history of the Chamber’s relations with similar organizations in New Zealand, there are many opportunities to enrich and expand the economic cooperation. He presented information about three Commerce Representative Offices of New Zealand companies operating in Bulgaria.
Ambassador Andrews informed that regardless of the geographic remoteness of the two countries, Bulgarian white brined cheese and wines can be bought in New Zealand. The country has many free trade agreements and is trying to launch the negotiations for a FTA with the European Union during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
