The Commercial and Economic Office in India is the most successful Bulgarian commercial section abroad for 2017

At an official ceremony held at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the annual awards for the Bulgarian commercial and economic offices abroad were bestowed. The event is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria.

During the official opening of the ceremony, the President of BCCI expressed his gratitude for the good cooperation between BCCI and the Ministry of Economy, Invest Bulgaria Agency, and the Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency, which as partners have contributed to the selection of the most worthy Bulgarian commercial and economic offices abroad in this prestigious ranking that is becoming more and more objective every year. He also added that the number of negative opinions expressed by businesses in the survey accompanying the ranking every year has dropped significantly, while the number of companies using the services of the Bulgarian commercial sections abroad has increased.

The big prize - bronze statuette “Hermes” and a Diploma went to the Bulgarian Commercial and Economic Office in India, ranked first place with indisputable results for 2017. The award is given for contribution to the development of the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and India, contribution to increasing Bulgarian exports abroad and foreign investments in Bulgaria, and support for achieving BCCI’s goals and objectives. The award was presented by Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI.

Stamen Yanev, Executive Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency presented the award, an Honorary Diploma, to the second place winner – the Bulgarian Commercial and Economic Office in Poland.

The Commercial and Economic Office of Bulgaria in Israel was awarded third place and was presented with an Honorary Diploma by Lyubomir Ganchev, Counsellor to the Bulgarian Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov.

The Bulgarian commercial sections in Greece, Romania and Russia, which were the other nominees in the classification, also received diplomas.

A number of other commercial sections also received high praise for their active work in support of business, including the Commercial and Economic Offices in Germany, Sweden, Moldova, France, the United Kingdom, Egypt, the USA, Canada, Japan, Iran, and Ukraine.

For the first time, the award was bestowed in 2011, according to criteria developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy. Every year the criteria are improved, aiming to encourage and reflect the most important duties and obligations of the Bulgarian commercial sections abroad, namely to assist the Bulgarian business.  

BCCI maintains constant contact with the employees of the Bulgarian commercial sections abroad in order to provide adequate economic information and assistance that is useful for the internationalization of the Bulgarian business. The contact with the commercial and economic counsellors begins during the preparation for their departure. The business relies on the commercial sections for economic information, useful contacts, foreign trade information, contacts with potential partners, assistance when they visit the respective country, participation in fairs and exhibitions, etc. The annual awards for the trade and economic counsellors are an expression of gratitude towards them and an assessment of what they have achieved.
