The Ambassador of South Korea visited BCCI

Upcoming events and cultural initiatives to promote the bilateral cooperation were discussed


The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and the Ambassador of South Korea in Sofia H.E. Jeong Jinkyu had a working meeting – the second one since the beginning of the diplomat’s term of office in Bulgaria. Mr. Gee Hyung In, Counsellor and Deputy Head of the Embassy of South Korea also took part in the meeting. Future plans to promote the economic relations between Bulgaria and South Korea were discussed. 

Simeonov presented the services and support which BCCI provides to Bulgarian and foreign companies. He acquainted his guests with the Chamber’s structure and activities. The President of BCCI added that in view of the EU-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, there is untapped potential for investment and joint business activities. “Korean investments in Bulgaria can grow through innovation and when using all the advantages the country offers to foreign investors to be competitive on the European market,” Simeonov said.

The Korean Ambassador informed that in addition to the economic events planned in the two countries this year – an investment forum, a seminar dedicated to renewable energy, and B2B meetings, there will be cultural initiatives to promote the bilateral cooperation.

BCCI will additionally inform its members about the upcoming business events.
