On 19th July 2011 the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce held a meeting of the EU Club with the Chamber on the occasion of the assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union by the Republic of Poland as of 1st July 2011.
At the beginning of the meeting H.Exc.Mrs.Judith Lang, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary, made a brief analysis of the achievements during the previous Hungarian Presidency concerning the development of the European social model by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, the implementation of common policies on energy production and agriculture and the preservation of the Union's values in the interest of its citizens.
H.Exc.Mr.Leszek Hensel, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, outlined the priorities of the Polish Presidency with particular attention to:
BCCI President Mr.Tsvetan Simeonov observed that the expectations for the Polish Presidency were enormous, given the fact that Poland is a big country with strong economy, which should not only demonstrate good leadership within its presidency, but further advance the European affairs.
Mr. Christopher Pavlov, Chief Economist of UniCredit Bulbank, outlined the status of the Bulgarian economy in the post-crisis period and focused on the necessary changes in the economic policy pursued to diversify the economic structure and improving its competitiveness.
Presenting the 10th anniversary edition of "Bulgaria - Trade Directory 2011" to the participants in the meeting of the EU Club, BCCI President underlined the eager pursuit of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce to improve the quality and diversify the provided business services.
The meeting was attended by diplomats, politicians, journalists and business representatives. Upon its adjournment "Art Visa Bulgaria" Gallery presented its summer exhibition “Time Flow” – 19th July- 20th September.
