Development of the bilateral commercial ties with Georgia

Meeting with the new Georgian Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Tamuna Liluashvili


The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov met with the new Georgian Ambassador to Bulgaria - H.E. Mrs. Tamuna Liluashvili. The main topic of the meeting was discussing possibilities for development of the bilateral commercial and economic ties between Bulgaria and Georgia. Vakhtang Andguladze, Counsellor and Vazha Gvaramia, Second Secretary and Consul at the Embassy, also took part in the meeting.

Tsvetan Simeonov and his guests discussed the Chamber’s relations with partners from Georgia and the signed cooperation agreements with the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The chambers also cooperate within the Association of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES) and the Business Council of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).

President Simeonov said that BCCI holds the chairmanship-in-office of the BSEC Business Council in the first half of 2019. On this occasion, a number of events are expected to take place, in which the Georgian partners are invited to participate. The end of BCCI’s chairmanship-in-office of the BSEC Business Council will be marked with a business forum and participation with a joint stand of the BSEC countries in the Balkan International Wine Festival in the beginning of June this year.

The other topics, discussed during the meeting included the cooperation between Bulgaria and Georgia in the field of wine-making and sharing of experience. Tsvetan Simeonov also presented the structure of BCCI, its system of regional chambers of commerce and industry, the activity of the Arbitration Court and the Unified Trade Register at the Chamber.

The President of BCCI expressed the Chamber’s support for the newly-appointed ambassador in the execution of her tasks during her mandate in Sofia.
