Discussion of joint initiatives with the Embassy of Vietnam

Regional seminars to present the latest developments in Vietnamese legislation, investment climate, free trade agreements


The newly-appointed Second Secretary for Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Bulgaria, Pham TUAN HUY, visited the BCCI and discussed with the management of the Chamber the opportunities for development of the bilateral cooperation. The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov, the Secretary General Vasil Todorov, and Miroslava Markova, Chief Expert "International Cooperation and International Organizations" at BCCI took part in the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting was to get acquainted with the activities of the Chamber and to discuss specific joint initiatives with the Embassy of Vietnam in Bulgaria to be held in 2019.

The Secretary General of BCCI Vasil Todorov acquainted the guest with the regional structure of the Chamber, its participation in more than 300 national state-public bodies and its membership in a number of international organizations. The services provided by BCCI in support of Bulgarian business were also presented.

During the meeting, specific measures were also discussed to enhance the bilateral cooperation, such as organizing various business events. The Second Secretary at the Embassy of Vietnam Pham TUAN HUY presented his ideas to organize regular round table discussions with representatives of the Bulgarian business, during which they will have the opportunity to share the sectors of interest to them on the Vietnamese market, as well as the obstacles they face.

The organization of a business forum and regional seminars to present the latest developments in Vietnamese legislation, the investment climate, the benefits of Vietnam’s free trade agreements with Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the negotiation process with the EU, was also discussed during the meeting.
