Meeting with the newly appointed Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Office in Zagreb

BCCI and the Trade and Economic Office will promote the links between entrepreneurs from the both countries


The President of BCCI held a meeting with the newly appointed Head of the Commercial and Economic Affairs Office in Zagreb Mirela Taseva. The development of the bilateral economic relations was discussed. Areas of bilateral interest were jointly outlined, in which BCCI and the Trade and Economic Office will encourage the links between entrepreneurs from the both countries: tourism, HoReCa sector, development of mobile and internet networks, agriculture, machinery and equipment, textiles and clothing.

Mr. Simeonov stressed the excellent relations BCCI has established with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Croatian Employers' Association. A contact arrangement was agreed to be made between the Trade and Economic Office and the relevant institutions in order to promote joint initiatives and projects.

According to information from the Ministry of Economy, the trade between the two countries in 2018 amounted to EUR 281,059 million, marking a growth of 45,1% compared to 2017. Exports from Bulgaria for the same period increased by 62,8% and imports from Croatia - by 19.8%.

In 2018, 22,332 Croatian tourists visited Bulgaria, while the number of Bulgarians traveling to Croatia for tourism purposes was 36,222.
