The organization is especially active in agriculture, SMEs and information technology sectors

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov addressed the members and guests of the General Assembly of the Bulgaria – Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held on 28 May, reminding them that the organization has the support of the Israeli Embassy in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Embassy in the State of Israel. Tsvetan Simeonov referred to his constructive talks with the newly appointed Bulgarian Ambassador to the State of Israel – Mrs. Rumyana Bachvarova, who has an ambitious programme for her mandate. “We are pleased with the active work of the members of the Bulgaria – Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, especially in agriculture, SMEs and information technology sectors”, the President of BCCI said, pointing out that the Israeli economy is a high-tech economy and this is what the Bulgarian economy needs to be in order to be active and competitive.

The Bulgaria – Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1993. Its members are Bulgarian companies and organizations, and its main partners from Israel are the Israel – Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Tel Aviv, the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, the Israel Export Institute – Tel Aviv, and the Embassy of Israel in Sofia.

The trade relations between the two countries, which started as an exchange of traditional commodities mainly of agricultural nature, have gradually undergone a qualitative change in the structure of bilateral trade, following the development and restructuring of the economies of the two countries and the competitive advantages of each of them. This is facilitated by active interaction at government level through a series of cooperation agreements stimulating cooperation across various sectors of the economy.
