Deputies from seven Brazilian provinces visited the BCCI

Potential areas for cooperation - furniture production, tropical fruit trade, energy

Deputies from seven Brazilian provinces visited the BCCI and met with President Tsvetan Simeonov. They took note of the economic environment in Bulgaria, the work of the Chamber of Commerce and presented the sectors in which they work.

Kennedy Nouss, a state deputy from Santa Caterina and chairman of the National Union of Legislators and Legislative Bodies UNALE, presented the members of the delegation who, besides MPs at the regional level, are also businessmen.

There has been a mutual interest in cooperation in the areas of furniture production, tropical fruit trade, energy, including renewable sources, refrigeration equipment, hospitality, agriculture, food production, medical services, education and more.

Simeonov raised the issue of the need to increase the trade volume between Brazil and Bulgaria and to balance the bilateral trade. Despite the signed documents between the two countries, the turnover and investment co-operation are modest for partners' capacity. Expectations are to boost commodity exchange following the forthcoming finalization of the free trade agreement between the European Union and the Mercosur South American trade bloc.

It was agreed that the two organizations would assist in linking interested companies from both countries, in cooperation with Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Brazil Renato Roussev, who also took part in the meeting.
