Georgi Stoev is awarded the Japanese Government’s Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon

The Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria awarded Georgi Stoev, Member of the Board of Directors and long-term Vice-President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the Japanese Government’s Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.

Through his positions at the Bulgarian-Japanese Economic Council with BCCI, the Bulgarian Association of the Alumni of the Association for Technical Education of Foreigners in Japan, the Association of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES), and the European Economic and Social Committee, Georgi Stoev has worked for many years to encourage and intensify the commercial and economic relations between Japan and Bulgaria, and has made significant contribution to promoting the friendly relations between the two countries.

In addition to translating classical and modernist Japanese fiction from the post-war generation for leading Bulgarian publishers and literary magazines, Georgi Stoev has also translated the works of some of the great Japanese classical poets Matsuo Bashō, Yosa Buson, Kobayashi Issa, Takahama Kyoshi, Yasunari Kawabata.
