BCCI hosted a meeting of innovation structures from the Western Balkans regions

Representatives of organizations responsible for innovation development and start-up ecosystems from the Western Balkans region visited BCCI. The event was part of the two-day meeting of innovation structure leaders from Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania, organized by the Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency.

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov said that the Chamber cooperates with the Western Balkan countries at bilateral and international level – through the chambers of commerce and industry and through their membership in the Association of Balkan Chambers, the BSEC Business Council, and the Association of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry “EUROCHAMBRES”.

A discussion was held with the representatives of the innovation structures on the need of connectivity between science and business, the benefits and problems for business after accession to the EU, the investment climate for the implementation of successful start-up ideas. Emphasis was placed on current topics such as the tax system in the respective countries, the minimum wage, entrepreneurship training, etc.

Tsvetan Simeonov expressed BCCI’s readiness to support any initiative for partnership and progress in the Western Balkans in terms of innovation and technological development.
