Meeting with the President of the Lebanese – Bulgarian Business Council

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov met with Ahmad Alaeddine, President of the Lebanese – Bulgarian Business Council. During their first meeting for the year, Tsvetan Simeonov and his guest discussed the programme for promoting the bilateral business relations in 2020.

The new challenges facing the companies worldwide were discussed as well as the specific characteristics of the Bulgarian and Lebanese markets. Tsvetan Simeonov said that despite the difficulties for the business, ways should be sought to maintain cooperation and deal with even bigger problems that the ones currently faced by Bulgarian and Lebanese companies.

Among the discussed new ideas was the renewal of the activity of the Bulgarian Association of Arabic Chambers of Commerce at BCCI, and the need to include more Arab countries – important economic partners of Bulgaria. At present the members of the Bulgarian Association of Arabic Chambers of Commerce include joint business organizations from Jordan, Iraq, Libya and Lebanon.

Ahmad Alaeddine confirmed the interest of companies from Lebanon and the neighbouring countries to import Bulgarian products: foods, beverages, vegetable and fruit juices, confectionery, mushrooms – truffles, etc.
