An innovative freight exchange platform will provide new services for the business

Since the end of 2019, BCCI has been developing the SCOPE project, which aims to develop an innovative freight exchange platform. The platform will provide transport services for the Balkan countries, will facilitate data and information exchange, and will support shipping and logistics companies in the region. The project is developed by 8 partner organizations from 3 countries – Albania, Bulgaria and Greece. The target groups that will use the freight exchange platform are shippers, carriers and freight forwarders.

What innovative services will the platform provide?

• Easy-to-use user interface;
• Smart cargo management;
• Opportunity to announce tender procedures.

BCCI will participate in the research of companies’ needs of this type of platform, its pilot testing and providing recommendations for improving its technical functionality. An international conference will be organized for the target groups of the project in the coming months, at which they will provide opinions on the efficiency of the processes in the platform and what needs to be changed. In stages, the freight exchange platform will be adapted as much as possible to the individual needs of the users.

Next steps:

After the platform is finalized, pilot tests will be launched to begin real-time checks of its functioning, which will also be subject to change and adaptation. The project partners from Albania, Bulgaria and Greece will constantly exchange information on the activities of the pilot programmes in the different countries and discuss specific cases to optimize the functionality of the portal.
