Meeting with the new Consul General of Bulgaria in Nis



The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov held an online meeting with the newly appointed Consul General of Bulgaria in Nis – Dimitar Tsanev and discussed the opportunities for development of commercial and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia.

During the meeting Tsvetan Simeonov provided information about BCCI’s relations with partners from Serbia: both on bilateral basis – with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its regional structures, and on multilateral grounds – within the Association of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry “EUROCHAMBRES”, the Association of Balkan Chambers, the BSEC Business Council, etc.

The President of BCCI emphasized the Chamber’s main databases – the voluntary Unified Trade Register as well as information on the financial statements of more than 6500 companies. The publications of the Chamber – the brochure “Bulgaria in Figures” containing information about the country’s main macro indicators and place in international rankings, and the “TOP 100 Companies, leading in the Bulgarian economy” were also discussed.

The possibility for the Chamber to assist in welcoming delegations from Nis, as well as in organizing exhibitions of Serbian goods in Bulgaria, preparing research and analyses, and publishing offers of Serbian companies was also presented.

Tsvetan Simeonov explained that a delegation prepared by BCCI to Pirot has been postponed due to the COVID-19 emergency situation, but the visit is expected to take place once the situation gets back to normal because of the huge interest of Bulgarian companies. The Chamber will additionally inform its members about the event. Simeonov wished the Consul General success in his work and expressed readiness on behalf of the Chamber to support the Bulgarian and Serbian businesses.
