BCCI took part in an online conference "Bulgaria - Korea: Partners in a Changing World"



The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in an online conference "Bulgaria - Korea: Partners in a Changing World", which was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. The aim of the organizers – the Diplomatic Institute with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Embassy in the Republic of Korea, and the Center for Bulgarian Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Seoul), was to present the achievements in the bilateral relations and opportunities for future cooperation.

"Over the last three decades, we have managed to build a very strong relationship with the Republic of Korea. The Republic of Korea is a priority partner of Bulgaria not only in Asia but also on the international stage. We share common values ​​and similar positions on many global and regional issues," said Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev at the opening of the event.

The conference was attended by Kim Joon Hyung, Chancellor of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Petko Draganov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Korea, and H.E. Jeong Jin-kyu, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Bulgaria.

Some of the discussed topics included public diplomacy in times of a pandemic, economic recovery from the aftermath of Covid-19, and deepening cooperation with a focus on young people and educational exchanges.
