The Association of Balkan Chambers has adopted its priorities and programme for 2021

The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov presented the priorities and the programme of the Association of Balkan Chambers /ABC/ for 2021. The BCCI will chair the organization this year, following the principle of rotation between the chambers of commerce of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Cyprus, the Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Turkey and Montenegro.

Established in 1994, the Association of Balkan Chambers assists the companies from its member-states in developing bilateral and multilateral ties and helps liberalize trade in the Balkans through concrete proposals to governments.

In 2021, the ABC will focus on joint initiatives between chambers of commerce and industry to minimize and overcome the impact of the COVID-19 crisis. It will encourage work with clusters from different sectors of industry. A series of virtual business meetings are planned to be held on a bilateral basis.

The representatives of the organizations – members of the Association of Balkan Chambers discussed the possibility for joint participation in some established business events such as the Balkan Business Awards /26 March 2021 in Lovech/ and the Balkan Wine Festival /17-19 June 2021 in Sofia/.

It was agreed that the ABC chambers of commerce will actively participate in the Three Seas Initiative business forum, which will be held in June this year during the Bulgarian hosting of the regional initiative.
