Meeting of the Councils of the Branch Organizations and Investments at BCCI

A hybrid meeting of the Councils of Branch Organizations and Investments at BCCI was held on July 29, 2021 at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting was attended by the BCCI President Mr.Tsvetan Simeonov and HE Alfredo Atanasoff  - Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Sofia.

Moderator of the meeting was Lyudmil Ivanov, PhD - Chairman of the Council of Branch Organizations at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In his presentation, the Ambassador has highlighted many of the advantages his country offers, such as a large diversified economy, the availability of significant natural resources, high-tech and fast-growing industrial sectors, and quality human capital. He has also reviewed the sectors with business potential, which for Argentina are: oil and gas, mining, agribusiness, knowledge-based services, tourism and telecommunications. It has been shared that Argentina is the leader in the region in terms of development and innovation in agriculture, health and quality production with extremely good positions in the USA, Uruguay, Chile and Mexico. Ambassador Atanasoff confirmed the willingness and readiness of the Argentinian business community to seek and develop mutually beneficial partnerships with companies from Bulgaria, as well as to invest in innovative industries and projects in our country.

Mr.Vladimir Tomov, Chairman of the Investment Council of the Chamber, acquainted the participants in the meeting with the activities and structure of the Council, as well as with the most important events included in the Program until the end of this year. Special attention was paid to the International Conference on “Financial Support for SMEs - SIMExpo 2021”, scheduled for September, where financial institutions, investment and guarantee funds and investors will present their programs and projects, and bilateral meetings will be held within the framework of a contact exchange event according to the specific financial capacity and current needs of the enterprises. The interest of Bulgaria to attract investments in the field of agriculture was emphasized. The presentation is attached.

The President of the Argentine-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Chobanov also gave a brief presentation, expressing satisfaction with the rapidly developing trade and economic relations and investment process between the two countries, which economies complement each other, in order to use the existing huge potential. He mentioned two upcoming business events planned for this year - a webinar for agricultural machines and parts in August and a webinar on the confectionery industry in September 2021.

The meeting was followed by a discussion on these topics discussed with the representatives of the Embassy of Argentina in Sofia.

Svetlana Borisova, representative of EEN - Vratsa acquainted the participants in the meeting with the topic "Assistance for networking with foreign partners and assistance from EEN for identification of new businesses and project opportunities." The presentation highlighted the role of the European Network for assistance to enterprises in their activities in relation to the new EU economy, related to innovation, digitalisation and the Green Pact.
