A postage stamp with the national flowers of Bulgaria and Argentina marks 90 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries

An anniversary postage stamp on the occasion of the 90^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Argentina was validated at a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov was among the official guests of the event.

In her welcoming speech, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Zaritsa Dinkova stressed the long-standing traditions in the relations between the two countries, as well as the readiness of the Bulgarian side to continue to develop active cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. She pointed out that Argentina was the first country in Latin America with which Bulgaria established diplomatic relations and in which today lives the largest Bulgarian community in the region.

The Ambassador of Argentina to Bulgaria H.E. Alfredo Atanasoff described the event as an opportunity to deepen ties and friendly relations between the two peoples. "We are witnessing the building of new bridges between Bulgaria and Argentina - those of communications, and why not nature”, he stressed.

The postal administrations of Bulgaria and Argentina have chosen beautiful symbols for the common philatelic edition - the national flowers - Rosa Damascena and Ceibo. They symbolize the desire of both countries to work for the flourishing of the bilateral cooperation.

The validation of the postage stamp is only part of a series of initiatives to mark the anniversary.

The BCCI and the regional chambers of commerce and industry have successfully partnered with the Embassy of Argentina in Sofia and personally with Ambassador H.E. Alfredo Atanasoff.

In addition to meetings with diplomats and business organizations, BCCI regularly receives information about Argentine companies seeking cooperation with Bulgarian partners in the mining industry, food industry, real estate, consultancy, media and education, chemical industry and textiles. A number of Bulgarian companies are also targeting the South American market and seeking the Chamber’s support.

Recently, the film about the first Chairman of the BCCI - Ivan Grozev was presented to the Bulgarian community in Buenos Aires, and a similar presentation is planned in the provinces of Chaco, Comodoro Rivadavia and Las Breñas.
