New cooperation opportunities with Angola

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov held an online working meeting with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola Vicente Soares. The meeting was conducted with the kind support of Arnold Ferreira, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in the African country. Representatives of the CCI of Angola also took part in the discussion.

During the meeting, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov said that the difficulties which the COVID-19 pandemic has caused have their positive sides as well. We now hold meetings with partners from around the world and are much more effective in exchanging information. The activity and priorities of the BCCI were presented and potential areas for cooperation were identified, including cooperation to promote the bilateral trade and investment relations, study of the opportunities to strengthen the export of Bulgarian goods to Africa, presentation of specific Angolan products on the Bulgarian market, etc.

Vicente Soares presented the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola, which was established in 1988. It aims to intensify its relations with partners from countries with which Angola has good diplomatic and historical relations. The Chamber seeks to exchange experience in order to help upgrade and develop the country’s business.

The renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two chambers in 2005 was also discussed during the meeting.

It was agreed to exchange information about the economies of both countries, interested companies, as well as to hold online events to present the business environment in Angola and Bulgaria.
