The Trade Commissioner of the Embassy of Canada visited BCCI

At the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a meeting was held with Hendrik Taulin, Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin, responsible for Bulgaria and several other countries in Southeast Europe.

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov presented his guest with current information about the Bulgarian economy. He outlined the Chamber’s priorities and activities in favour of the business community.

Simeonov and the Trade Commissioner discussed the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the EU and Canada. According to information from the EU’s single trade portal, 286 Bulgarian companies export to Canada, 79% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises.

The main products that are exported from Bulgaria to Canada are foil, medicines, bottled oil, seeds, animal feed, climbing walls, mattresses, etc.

It was agreed to hold more information events to promote the full use of the trade facilitation opportunities provided by the CETA Agreement.
