Initiatives dedicated to the Bulgarian – Vietnamese business cooperation

ECO-GREEN VIETNAM EXPO at the National Palace of Culture, Sofia

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry partnered in two events aimed at promoting the Bulgarian – Vietnamese trade and economic ties. The ECO-GREEN VIETNAM EXPO, held this week at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, presented ecological products, raw materials and articles for the light and food industries, produced in Vietnam.

The other event, Bulgarian – Vietnamese Business Forum, was organized jointly with the Vietnamese Embassy in Sofia. “The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports the bilateral business initiatives and continues the good tradition in the relations between companies and business organizations from Bulgaria and Vietnam,” said the Chamber’s Secretary General Vasil Todorov at the opening of the forum.

H.E. Do Hoang Long, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Bulgaria, stressed that despite the good relations between the two countries, the volume of bilateral trade is modest. We need to take advantage of the excellent links between the two national chambers of commerce to connect interested companies from Vietnam and Bulgaria and to promote relations between manufacturers, traders and investors. According to Ambassador Long, both countries should identify priority sectors for cooperation, one of which could be the production of organic and bio foods.

During the forum were presented:

• Bulgarian agriculture;
• Vietnamese agriculture;
• The investment climate in Bulgaria.

During the two events, companies and organizations from both countries held useful b2b meetings.
