The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, participated at a meeting intended for the members of the Bulgarian-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry. Mr. Simeonov discussed upcoming initiatives and partnerships of BUIK, in the presence of representatives of the Chamber, partners from the Ukrainian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and with the special participation of HE. Vitaly MOSKALENKO, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Bulgaria and Mikaylo Harmash, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Ukraine in Sofia,
He stated that BCCI recently organized a successful event on the topic of the bilateral cooperation in the transport and logistics sector. He confirmed the willingness of the Chamber to continue to promote BUIK throughout the activation period of its activity, which began in March this year. He was pleasantly surprised by the great interest incited by the meeting, held at the office of Eurolex Bulgaria OOD, a member of BUIK.
Ambassador Moskalenko expressed an opinion that the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation in conditions of war requires special activity from the business. The rapidly growing trade volume between Bulgaria and Ukraine in 2021 is now almost reduced in half. This is due to the destroyed transport and production infrastructure in Ukraine. He emphasized once again the importance of transport and arrangements with the EU for facilitation of Ukrainian carriers and goods, in the abovementioned area.
Lilia Ivanova, President of the Mixed Chamber, presented the new members of the organization - Eurolex Bulgaria OOD and Trezoli Bulgaria OOD. Ms. Ivanova shared ideas for new initiatives of the organization aimed at providing assistance to Ukrainian companies and citizens in the period of war. Upcoming online events in the information technology sector were discussed.
A memorandum of cooperation with the Ukrainian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to be signed, which was presented at the meeting by the President - Mr. Ivan Plachkov.
