The RIDE /Reach Inclusion through Digital Empowerment for migrant women/ project partners met in Athens this week. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry participates in the project with trainings for migrant and refugee women, as well as mentoring sessions. The project aims to improve the opportunities of migrant and refugee women to enter the labor market through digital skills and thus optimize their inclusion in the host society.
Gabriela Dimitrova, Director of International Cooperation Department at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the meeting and presented the results of the trainings conducted by the Chamber in two levels – computer literacy for beginners and creative design. More than 20 ladies joined the courses, half managed to finish and get certificates. A series of meetings were held, the purpose of which was to inform the ladies, including women from Ukraine, staying in Bulgaria because of the war, about important topics such as: social and intercultural inclusion, women's rights, the labor market, how to look for a job, etc.
During the partnership meeting, the next activities planned under the RIDE project were discussed. In the autumn, events will be held in 6 countries in Europe /Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic/, the purpose of which is to make contacts between women of migrant and refugee origin and employers. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organize the so-called job fair with partner organizations. There is also a final RIDE conference to present its results in January 2023.
