The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement with the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Uruguay.
During an online meeting, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and the President of the Uruguayan Chamber Julio Lestido signed a document that marks the beginning of cooperation between the two organizations. The main areas of interaction between the chambers were agreed upon with the assistance and in the presence of the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Argentina, accredited for Uruguay – H.E. Stoyan Mihaylov and the Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in the country - Igor Svetogorski.
Ambassador Mihaylov called the agreement “an instrument to establish and expand cooperation”. The potential for partnership is wide given the comparability of the two countries’ economies and objectives.
The President of the Uruguayan Chamber drew attention to the lack of in-depth information on business opportunities, due to the remoteness of the two countries and the absence of contacts at the level of chambers of commerce so far. It was agreed to hold a series of information events to fill in the information gap and encourage bilateral contacts.
The President of BCCI emphasized that the time has come for an exchange of business visits between the two chambers, as information should flow in both directions and companies from Bulgaria and Uruguay should have more clarity in which areas and sectors they have mutual interests.
