Traditional meeting of the Club of Joint and Foreign Chambers in Bulgaria





The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the traditional meeting of the Club of Joint and Foreign Chambers in Bulgaria. The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov, gave an overview of the economic situation in the country. He emphasized the impact of the Covid-19 crisis, which is still being felt, as well as the economic performance against the background of the ongoing war in Ukraine. He paid special attention to the positions of BCCI on issues related to the prices of energy sources, the minimum wage, etc.

Ruzha Zaharieva, "Economic Analysis and Policy" Expert, introduced the participants to the results of the EUROCHAMBRES Economic Survey 2023 – the expectations of the business for next year, forecasts and main challenges.

Gabriela Dimitrova, Director "International Cooperation and International Organizations", introduced the participants to the results of several EU projects implemented by BCCI, including project RIDE /Reach Inclusion through Digital Empowerment for migrant women/, project “International Organization of Vocational Training to Improve the Professional Qualifications of Employees in Polish and Bulgarian Enterprises”, and initiatives of partners of the Chamber such as “European Youth Parliament”.

During the discussion, the representatives of the joint chambers had the opportunity to share information about held meetings, forums, activities, as well as upcoming events in 2023.

Views were exchanged on various economic issues in the context of the new reality, including inflation, disruptions in trade and energy flows, volatility and uncertainty in energy markets leading to higher food and energy prices.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Bulgarian-Australian Business Council, the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Bulgarian-Ukrainian Industrial Chamber and the Hungarian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce.
