Possibilities for cooperation between Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea are discussed





The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting with a delegation of representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry from the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, the President, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, and the Secretary-General, Mr. Vasil Todorov had the opportunity to talk with colleagues from the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chambers of Commerce of Busan, Ulsan, and Daegu. H. E. Mr. Lee Ho-shik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in our country, and Mr. Kalin Damyanov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea, participated in the conversation.

The guests got acquainted with the economic environment in Bulgaria, as well as with the advantages of doing business in our country. Korean investments in the country were discussed and commented on, which are stable in terms of volume, but there are many opportunities for their expansion - especially in the renewable energy sectors, automotive industry, information technology, and other innovative areas.

Mr. Woo Taehee, Executive Vice President of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and head of the delegation, explained that after the pandemic, the country is looking to diversify its trading partners and suppliers. The Republic of Korea is working very hard in another area related to carbon emissions reduction and green technologies’ introduction.

Mr. Simeonov emphasized Bulgaria's potential in areas such as the food industry, agriculture, tourism, and RES and invited his colleagues from Korea to consider a repeat visit to the country to deepen the talks in each sector.
