The Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Syria in Sofia visited the BCCI

H. E. Mrs Oras Mahmoud, Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of Syria in Sofia, visited BCCI and talked with its President Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov about the opportunities to enhance the bilateral trade and economic relations.

The working meeting was focused on the condition of the infrastructure following the earthquake of February 6 this year which struck northern and western Syria. Mr. Simeonov expressed his sympathy for the people of Syria and stated that the Bulgarian construction workers are ready to participate in the restoration of the country.

The Head of the Syrian Mission in Sofia spoke about the international events, upcoming in Syria, where they shall introduce investment projects for reconstruction and recovery of the country, involving many local and international construction companies. The BCCI shall timely notify the business diaspora about the events as well as provide additional information about the participation of the Bulgarian companies.

Mrs Oras Mahmoud referred to the latest developments in Syria's investment legislation. She pointed out that the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Syria is the leading factor in raising Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

BCCI confirmed its willingness to further contribute to the development of the traditionally reliable trade and economic relations between the two countries.
