Bulgaria-Cyprus trade returning to pre-pandemic volume



Bulgaria and Cyprus are on their way to restoring the pre-pandemic volume of two-way trade, which totaled EUR 262.3 million in 2022, it was noted at a meeting between the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and a delegation from Limassol, Cyprus. The delegation led by Mayor Nicos Nicolaides is visiting at the invitation of Sofia City Hall.

BCCI Vice President Todor Tabakov welcomed the guests, including Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Heros Miltiadous. Tabakov emphasized the excellent interaction between the two countries' national chambers of commerce and industry and presented the BCCI's activity as a business and employer organization.

Cyprus is among the leaders in terms of direct investments in manufacturing, construction, real estate and trade. A large portion of Cyprus's investments are made by investors headquartered in third countries.

The guests presented Limassol as a large, fast-growing city and the largest port in Cyprus.

Representatives of the Cyprus University of Technology, based in Limassol, participated in the meeting. They will meet with partner universities in Sofia.
