Bulgaria's progress on its way to the Eurozone, Schengen, and OECD - in the focus of a conversation with a World Bank team

The Secretary General of BCCI, Dr. Vasil Todorov, held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank - Francisco Campos (senior economist), Sagite Muko (senior specialist for the private sector) and Luis Aldo Sanchez (consultant). The main subject of the conversation was Bulgaria's progress on its way to the Eurozone, Schengen, and OECD, the specifics of the interaction between the state and the private sector, and in particular the trends for increasing the effectiveness of the dialogue between them. The progress in the implementation of the activities of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan was also discussed.

Mr. Vasil Todorov introduced the guests to the activities of BCCI as a nationally representative employers’ organization. The expectations of the business from the newly elected government, the need for mandatory structural reforms to guarantee a more predictable, competitive, and sustainable business environment, as well as the intentions of the World Bank team to include Bulgaria in the list of participating countries for the upcoming World Bank Group BUSINESS READY (B-READY) report were also discussed.
