The BCCI's partnership with West African countries is being activated



The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ghana signed a cooperation agreement.

During an online meeting, organized with the active assistance of H.E. Yanko Yordanov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Nigeria, accredited to Ghana, the presidents of the two chambers discussed opportunities for interaction at the level of business organizations. Tsvetan Simeonov presented the activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and emphasized the strong interest of Bulgarian companies in finding new partners, including in West Africa.

Clement Osei Amoako, Chairman of the Ghana Chamber, gave an overview of the organization which was established as far back as 1850 as the Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce. It has a leading role in the development of the country's economy and works with both the public and private sectors. The Chamber of Ghana has about 5,000 members from all over the country.

During the meeting, it was agreed that the two organizations would prepare a program to follow to promote contacts between companies from Bulgaria and Ghana.

Ambassador Yordanov thanked for the cooperation of the two chambers and emphasized that the signed Cooperation Agreement is a continuation of the agreement on political cooperation, an agreement between the diplomatic institutes of the two countries, a document on media cooperation, etc., signed earlier this year. He informed that a 140% growth in bilateral trade is observed for 2022 and shared expectations that the commitment of the two chambers will further support the turnover increase.

BCCI and the Ghana Chamber of Commerce will organize events to inform businesses about the opportunities offered by the economies of both countries. Stay tuned for more information on the events.
