Opportunities for enhancing the economic cooperation with Argentina

The BCCI hosted a meeting with Claudio Rosencwaig, Undersecretary for Foreign policy in the Ministry of foreign affairs, International trade and Worship of Argentina and the Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina in Bulgaria H.E.  Alfredo N. Atanasof.

The president of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov presented the profile of present-day Bulgarian economy and the spheres of contact in the commercial and economic relations between Bulgaria and Argentina. He highlighted on the active cooperation with various chambers of commerce and business organizations in the South American country, which cooperation is earnestly supported by the diplomatic representations in both Sofia and Buenos Aires.

Rosencwaig pointed out that it was the geopolitical situation in Europe that strengthened the commercial and economic interaction between Argentina and EU countries. MERCOSUR and the singing of the cooperation document is still in the focus of EU’s attention. In addition, a number of high-level visits have been exchanged recently on both sides with the aim of strengthening these relations.

Both Argentina and Bulgaria communicated that the biggest interest in the economic relations between Bulgaria and Argentina was in the fields of energy, agriculture and tourism.

The guests notified that the mixed bilateral commission in Argentina was going to have a meeting and arrangements were underway to put it in place.

President Simeonov underlined that enhancement of the partnerships at level business and individual companies was among the main priorities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and maintained for close cooperation between Bulgaria and Argentina to stimulate and brace the interest of companies from both countries.

The online meeting between the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Production has been scheduled for the beginning of July.
