Meeting with the Head of Bulgaria’s Commercial and Economic Section in Beirut

One year after being accredited as Head of Bulgaria’s Commercial and Economic Section at the Bulgarian Embassy in Beirut, Plamen Vasilev visited the BCCI and discussed with the President Tsvetan Simeonov the current economic situation in Lebanon.

Plamen Vassilev shared that despite the political instability in Lebanon, there are signs the economic situation is smoothly getting back to normal. He pointed out that trade with the EU was growing and sectors like information technologies, healthcare, pharmacy and food industry were thriving.

Another topic of the discussion was the prospect of organizing joint initiatives like business forums with a focus on the development of relations with companies importers from Lebanon.

Tsvetan Simeonov asserted the willingness of the BCCI to support the set-up of bilateral meetings and the founding of business contacts with companies from both countries, drawing into the planning the Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon and other business structures. Simeonov shared he shall rely on the assistance of the Association of the Bulgarian – Arab Economic Chambers.
