Tsvetan Simeonov hosted a visit of a delegation from Jordan

Prospects of economic information exchange and intended joint initiatives






The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed and had talks with Mustafa Riyalat, editor-in-chief of the Al-Dustur newspaper under the auspices of His Majesty the King of Jordan. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Jordanian honorary consulate in Sofia, Bulgaria, Dr Hasan Al Barmawi, Honorary Consul, Anastas Terzobaliev, Manager of the International Company for Development of real estate and Tourism, in business relations with Arab countries, and Mihail Argatski, Sales Manager of the company.

Tsvetan Simeonov and Mustafa Riyalat discussed the exchange of ongoing information about Bulgaria and Jordan in the fields of economy, conservation, science and culture. Simeonov expressed his contentment with the fact that Jordan is constantly present in the Bulgarian media space not only with regard to tourism advertising, but also in relation to other sectors. Business between the two countries has been stable with a longstanding history, supported by the chambers of commerce, diplomats from both countries and government representatives, Simeonov pointed out. He recalled a number of business visits and events recently organized and held in both countries.

Mustafa Riyalat underlined Al-Dustur is all but ready for a dynamic exchange of economic information about Bulgaria with the BCCI. He specified that the newspaper had been functioning even before the Kingdom of Jordan was established. in 1967, two media merged together to form what is now the well-known "Al-Dustur" – which translated means the Constitution.

Al-Duster is the first newspaper in the Arab world that has brought into effect the electronic publishing. As of today, the newspaper has a well-developed electronic version and a lively social network. Riyalat maintains that as of today the daily newspaper attracts about 1 million unique users per day. The BCCI guest shared that despite the crisis in the printed media, the newspaper is publishing in both paper and electronic versions and with the start of 2024 there will also be an English printed version.

The BTPP has already been mentioned in the electronic edition of the newspaper in connection with various business initiatives, Atanas Terzobaliev said.

In the course of the meeting, the Honorary Consul of Jordan in Bulgaria Dr Hasan Al Barmawi came up with various recommendations on how to enhance the bilateral trade and the economic relations between the two countries.

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will provide additional information on some specific initiatives.
