Meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Congo

BCCI signed an Agreement with the Chamber of commerce, industry, agriculture and trades of Pointe-Noire

The President of the BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Chamber of commerce, industry, agriculture and trades of Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo. The President of the Congolese Chamber of Commerce Sylvestre MAVOUENZELA presented his thanks to the team of the Bulgarian Embassy in Nigeria, which is also accredited to the Republic of Congo, for being at hand for the primary organization of the visit of the delegation, which included Jean-Baptiste Diathoud, adviser to the Prime Minister of Congo,  Joseph Christian Nyambi, honorary consular official of Bulgaria in Congo, and Roch Massoyi-Eteka, Director General of Special Economic Zones of Congo.

Sylvestre MAVOUENZELA presented the activities of the organization and the possibilities for future cooperation between entrepreneurs from both countries. Up-to-date information about the economic development of the country and its natural resources, as well as the investment opportunities, can be found HERE .

Sylvestre MAVOUENZELA pointed out that the import from Bulgaria to Congo amounts to about 900 thousand US dollars and the export from the Congo to Bulgaria is about 600 thousand US dollars – parameters that speak of insufficient collaboration and undeveloped potential for bilateral cooperation.

Tsvetan Simeonov, on his part, welcomed the delegation, expressing his enthusiasm with the first visit from this African country to the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in its 128-year history. The delegation was introduced to the activities of the BCCI in support of business.

The BCCI demonstrated the opportunities provided by the 7 transport corridors running through the territory of our country. Bulgaria, among all the EU member states, is the country with the lowest tax rate. Bulgaria is a francophone country with a very well-developed educational system which could be of help for a beneficial future cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting the two parties signed a cooperation agreement – the first Agreement in the history of the Bulgarian-Congolese economic relations. They agreed to organize an online meeting in the near future for companies from both countries, as well as visits of business delegations and an exhibition of Congolese goods in Sofia.
