Good prospects for partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

At the invitation of the President of BCCI, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, Mr. Norbert Beckman-Dirkes, Head of the Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Sofia, visited the Chamber.

Mr. Simeonov presented the Chamber as a non-governmental association with a 128-year history based on the principles of voluntary membership, autonomy, and self-financing. He commented on the guidelines in the activity of BCCI in recent years, paying particular attention to the efforts to ensure a favorable economic environment for investors, sustainable development, and improvement of the companies’ competitiveness. The edition "Bulgaria in Figures" was also presented.

In the current year, BCCI has taken over the rotating Presidency of the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE) and Mr. Simeonov introduced the guest to the Association’s priorities and achievements.

For his part, Mr. Norbert Beckman-Dirkes presented the work of the Bureau in Sofia and drew attention to the goals and values they strive for - social justice, liberal democracy, and a stable economy. The organization is also the initiator of a number of forums on strategic issues.

Mr. Norbert Beckmann noted that the Chambers of Commerce are a natural partner of the foundation.

Some opportunities for future cooperation were identified, which are to be developed into real initiatives and joint studies, contributing to the development of international economic cooperation and assistance for the European integration of Bulgaria.
