Representatives of Bulgarian companies participated in the trade initiative in Antalya, Turkey, organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Antalya Organized Industrial Zone /AOSB/.
Speaking at the official opening of Antalya Industrial Zone meeting, Mr. Ali Bahar, President of Antalya Industrial Zone, welcomed the Bulgarian companies and presented the leading 10 sectors in the zone, including construction, textiles, agriculture, etc. He emphasizes on the advantages of the zone such as security, flexibility, good investment possibilities with a wide range of services at disposal of the investors.
Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed his appreciation for the support Turkish partners provided in the implementation of this trade initiative. He shared that commercial relations between Bulgaria and Turkey were going steady and investment opportunities - growing. Bulgaria recognizes Turkey as an important trade partner - it is not by coincidence that the country ranks first in both the export and import of Bulgarian goods to third countries. Simeonov underlined the possibilities for potential cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering, new technologies, furniture, etc. The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry pointed out that Bulgaria could be the gateway to the EU market for modern Turkish goods.
The President of AOSB Mr. Ali Bahar presented a symbolic plaque of the Industrial Zone to the BCCI’s president Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov.
The official part was followed by visits to production bases on the territory of the zone. 142 bilateral meetings took place between Bulgarian and Turkish companies, willing to find partners on the Bulgarian market in the areas of: production of chemical fertilizers, production of furniture, pool tables, industrial doors, lighting fixtures, tunnel construction, etc.
The parties discussed the possibility of organising a visit of Industrial Zone Antalya representatives to Sofia in the fall of this year, as well as the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the BCCI and AOSB.
