Moroccan business delegation visiting our country

Many sectors where there are opportunities to activate bilateral economic relations were presented




The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Bulgaro - Moroccan business forum for the promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations. The event is organized with the assistance of the Office for Trade and Economic Affairs of Bulgaria in Morocco and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Rabat - Sale - Kenitra Region.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tsvetan Simeonov, officially opened the event and said that although the world is having a hard time recovering from the disruption of logistical connections and contacts within the framework of global trade due to the covid crisis and conflicts, business representatives are working to expand economic ties between Bulgaria and Morocco.

"We highly value the stability of Morocco and its economy, because only with stable institutions can businesses feel good and implement their projects," Simeonov pointed out, stressing that the BCCI will try to ensure that the Moroccan delegation's stay in our country leads to the establishment to appropriate contacts.

The President of the BCCI added that the last years of the mandate of the Moroccan ambassador in Sofia, Zakia El Midaoui, have been filled with many events related not only to the bilateral relations between our countries, but also to Bulgaria's relations with the Arab world

Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Sofia, stated that the forum is a step in a long series of events of this type to promote cooperation between the private sector in the two countries. She gave an overview of Morocco's economy, emphasizing the sound macroeconomic framework that can be an effective lever for solid, sustainable growth.

According to Zakia El Midaoui, Morocco is among the most attractive countries in terms of foreign investment. Moreover, due to its geographical position at the crossroads, the country is a strong partner in the Euro-Mediterranean area. The entire speech of the Moroccan ambassador can be seen here.

Yasir Sebar, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Rabat - Saleh - Kenitra Region, thanked for the organization of the forum and shared that in recent years there has been an activation of bilateral relations through agreements in various sectors such as trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, development and education.

Julian Balchev, Secretary General of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, presented the business environment in Bulgaria and recalled that the country has the lowest taxes in the EU.

After the official part, bilateral meetings were held between the representatives of Bulgarian and Moroccan business. The delegation from the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Rabat - Saleh - Kenitra Region was represented by companies with interests in the food industry, trade, import-export, agricultural machinery and machinery, real estate, automotive industry, information and communication technology, infrastructure and construction and others.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry also held a private meeting with the vice-chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Industry and Services of the Rabat - Sale-Kentira Region, where upcoming initiatives and possible visits were discussed.
