Antoaneta Kalauzka, Bulgaria's newly appointed Commercial Adviser in Lisbon, visited BCCI and talked with its President Tsvetan Simeonov. She presented her plans for her forthcoming term of office. There are good opportunities to strengthen the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Portugal and the joint work between the TEAO (Trade and Economic Affairs Office) and BCCI will help to achieve this. In the last fifteen years, Bulgaria has had no TEAO in the Iberian country. The leading sectors with the greatest potential for the development of trade were discussed. It was agreed to maintain more active business contacts between small- and medium-sized companies from both countries through a number of joint initiatives, including exchange of business delegations, bilateral forums and B2B meetings, among others.
Mr Simeonov acquainted the guest with the BCCI's capacity to assist in finding new and reliable business partners in response to inquiries, coming from companies from both countries.
Data of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) indicates that on 1 July 2024, the aggregate foreign direct investments from Portugal in Bulgaria amounted to EUR 13.4 million.
