The partnership between the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) was reinforced with signing a Memorandum during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Roumen Radev in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam this week. The document was signed during a special ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi by Yancho Yanev, member of the BCCI Management Board and President of the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Tran Thi Lan Anh, General Secretary of the VCCI.
The Bulgarian business delegation, accompanying the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, participated in a large business forum, too, in the city of Ho Chi Minh with 40 Bulgarian companies and 185 Vietnamese companies. The event was organised by the Executive Agency for Stimulating SMEs.
"Bulgaria can offer a wide spectrum of opportunities for the development of mutually beneficial business," President Roumen Radev stated at the opening of the business forum. "For us, Vietnam is not just a trade partner. We did not come here for trade. We are here to look for friends and partners that will not limit themselves to trade only, but we want to develop together research, studies, technologies, to produce together and to go out together to the markets of third countries. We are greatly impressed by your development, especially by the development and success of Ho Chi Minh City as a business and economic hub of Vietnam," the Head of State said.
The forum put an emphasis on the cooperation in strategic sectors such as digital transformation, innovations and biotechnologies. It was attended by representatives of Bulgarian companies from the following sectors: high technologies and information and communication technologies, automotive industry, biotechnology, defence industry, etc., as well as by representatives of Vietnamese companies from a number of sectors such as energy, electronics, food and drink industry, etc.
The business forum presented Bulgaria's advantages that make it attractive to foreign investors - its geopolitical location, the macroeconomic and foreign currency stability, the free export to the EU, the attractive taxation and competitive operating costs.
Within the framework of the Head of State's visit to Vietnam, the Bulgarian delegation visited a Factory for electric automobiles in the city of Haiphong - a production sphere in which cooperation between companies from the two countries can be increased as well.
At the end of last week, the delegation stayed in Singapore where a business forum was held with the Singapore Federation of Producers.
