As the oldest and, undoubtedly, as an established business organisation in Bulgaria, BCCI preserves diligently its traditions. It is not by accident that for the 31st time, it prepared and bestowed awards for the achievements of companies and partners that have worked on the development of the business in Bulgaria. Companies, ambassadors, trade representatives, media and journalists were presented with awards - a Bronze Statuette of Hermes, made by the Sculptor Stavri Kalinov, a Plaque and an Honorary Diploma.

The award ceremony took place in Sofia Balkan Hotel on 3 December. It was attended by more than 200 representatives of the state institutions, diplomatic missions accredited in Bulgaria, BCCI members, sectoral organisations, regional chambers of commerce and industry, partners of the Chamber from this country and from abroad. The BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov and the Caretaker Minister of Economy and Industry Petko Nikolov delivered a speech of welcome to the award winners and the guests at the ceremony. They were also among the persons giving the awards, together with the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Natalia Efremova and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Shekerletova, among others.

Н.E. Zakia El Midaoui, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Bulgaria, was awarded by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Shekerletova in the "Ambassador" Category for her contribution to the development of economic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Morocco and for her contribution to achieving the goals and objectives of BCCI. “I am glad to receive this prestigious and very important award, it will remain in my heart as one of the most beautiful memories from your beautiful country,” the Diplomat said.

Kong Lingyu, Trade Representative of the Embassy of China in Sofia, received an award from the BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov for his active work on connecting Bulgarian and Chinese businesses. In his speech of welcome, Mr Lingyu pointed out that in the last ten years the trade between the two countries has increased by 130 percent and this is a good sign for Chinese business. He reminded that direct cargo flights have already been started between the two countries, trains on the China-Europe line already reach Bulgaria and Bulgarian citizens will now be able to visit China without any visas, if they stay there for a short period.

The following 5 companies were awarded a Hermes Bronze Statuette together with an Honorary Diploma: Neomash EOOD, Gravis Bulgaria AD, Bultex 99 EOOD, Sumup Limited, Branch Bulgaria BFC and BA Glass Bulgaria EAD.
