BCCI is a Natural Partner of Hungarian Companies Seeking Business Cooperation and a Market in Bulgaria

Bulgarian-Hungarian Business Forum in Budapest devoted to the opportunities to strengthen the bilateral trade and economic relations

BCCI participated in a Bulgarian-Hungarian Business Forum which was held in Budapest, Hungary at the end of last week on the initiative of the Trade and Economic Affairs Office at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Hungary.

The President of the Chamber Tsvetan Simeonov emphasised that the long-term partnership with organisations such as the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Hungarian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce is extremely useful for supporting the bilateral economic relations. Hungary is one of Bulgaria's key partners in the field of trade and investments. Mr Simeonov presented in detail the diverse information that the BCCI has to be able to assist Bulgarian and international companies.

In 2023, trade between the two countries amounted to 2.3 billion euro. In the first half of 2024, it amounted to nearly 1.2 billion euro. That’s what Bulgaria's Caretaker Minister of Economy and Industry Petko Nikolov said in his speech of welcome at the Forum.

"Bulgaria offers a stable investment environment and many advantages such as competitive tax conditions, strategic location, as well as a growing network of industrial zones," Mr Nikolov said. He also stated that our country supports projects aimed at the new technologies and sustainable development.

Minister Nikolov was glad to learn that many representatives of the Hungarian business community were present at the Forum and noted that this shows the aspiration of both countries to develop long-lasting economic relations.

"I am convinced that thanks to the contacts made today, we will establish some ties of serious benefit to both countries," the Economic Minister added.

The Bulgarian-Hungarian Business Forum was organised by Ms Nevena Stoyanova, Head of the Office for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Hungary. "I hope that today we will lay the foundations for successful trade and economic partnerships and that investors will see the potential of economic opportunities," Stoyanova said in her speech. She also dwelled on the opportunities for Bulgaria as a Danube country and the five international road corridors crossing its territory.

The event was attended by more than 70 representatives of Hungarian companies and sectoral organisations from the following sectors: automotive, battery, light industry, electronics and electrical engineering industries, the IT sector, energy, circular economy, potential investors and the tourist industry, as well as by prominent Bulgarians who have settled in Hungary and by Hungarians who have contributed to the development of the trade and economic relationships between the two countries.
